Accessibility
What we have done, what we have tested, and what we have not.
Many of the people who use this site are older, or are helping someone who is. Accessibility is not a compliance exercise here; it is the whole audience.
What was built in
- Every colour pairing verified by contrast maths, not by eye
- Text over photographs checked against the worst case the photo could be
- A 44px minimum for anything you tap — WCAG 2.2 asks for 24
- Full keyboard operation, with a visible focus ring on every stop
- A skip link as the first tab stop
- All motion stops for anyone who asks their device to reduce it
- Reflows at 200% zoom with no sideways scrolling
What has not been tested
No screen reader testing has been done — no NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver pass. Nor has testing on real phones and tablets; checks were run in one browser engine. Until those happen we are not claiming conformance to WCAG 2.2 AA, only that we built toward it and measured what we could.
